Homeschooling as a way of life

Homeschooling in my experience is beneficial for all member of the family, despite the regular disasters that only gently push us towards improvement. It shows us the immense possibilities offered by the world and connection to our inner creation, if we trust that behind the curtains of struggle, there is joy and comfort.

The reason why I want to document and share this journey is not to brag, but to show that it is possible to grow from the roots of home and community. When someone shows us that something is a real working option, a field of endless possibilities opens up.

If you choose to go this route there is nowhere to hide from your children and all cards are on the table. They will see you in everything, in how you work, how you plan, how you communicate, how you manage stress, how loving you stay or not in certain situations etc..

It’s a radical act or reclaiming who you want to be (beside never truly knowing who we are) and how you want to be in everyday life.

Homeschooling is more a philosophy than education. The acknowledgment that I want to raise my own kids made me restructure my life, and the vision of our family, in ways I would never have to if they were sent off every day. I know it will grand us the connection we deserve to have between eachother, connection individually and as a tribe.

One of the deschooling processes for me (and I am currently going through many at the same time!) has been how I distribute my creative energy. Do I just share stories with the world using all my time and inspiration without having time to write in depth? No I cannot do it anymore and having to be very intentional and focused is also part of the shift. What do I want to build over the time? For me and my children?

The boundary between holding a phone and talking to a child is thin, and I don’t want to cross it. When my brain craves dopamine I try to reach for a book or do an experiment with them.

For now the answer is inspiration for you to find little snippets on the way of the process of deschooling, which is very diverse and fun! So Welcome.
